If you run ads or watch your own funnel, TokTix can send ticket sales to your Google Analytics 4 property, so your revenue and conversion reports include real orders.
Which screen you need
There are two, and which one applies is decided by the event, not by your account:
- Events you host yourself, outside an organization → Profile → Tools → Connect Google Analytics
- Events under an organization → Profile → My Organizations, open that organization's settings, and find the Google Analytics 4 Tracking card
Host some events personally and others under an organization? Set up both. Neither one stands in for the other.
Connect it
- Open the screen for your case above.
- Turn on Enable Conversion Tracking.
- Paste your GA4 Measurement ID — it starts with
G-. - Paste your GA4 API Secret.
- Tap Save Settings. A test event is sent automatically as soon as a changed connection is saved, and you can send another at any time with Send Test Event.
In Google Analytics, both live on the same data stream: Admin → Data streams → your web stream for the Measurement ID, and on that stream Measurement Protocol API secrets → Create for the secret.
Confirm it in Realtime — don't skip this
After the test event, open Reports → Realtime in Google Analytics and watch for toktix_setup_test. It should arrive within a minute or two.
Do this every time you change the secret. Google accepts a wrong API Secret without returning an error of any kind — the event is sent, Google answers "received", and the data goes nowhere. Seeing the test event land is the only way to tell a working secret from a dead one.
If it never appears, create a fresh Measurement Protocol secret on that data stream and paste it in again.
About the API Secret
Once saved, your API Secret is never shown again — not even back to you. The screen marks it as saved, and you can Replace or Remove it, but nothing reads it back out. If you're unsure the stored one is right, replace it and send another test event.
What gets sent
purchase, once per order, carrying the revenue — paid orders and free RSVPs alike.- The WordPress funnel, when your event sells through the TokTix plugin: the ticket-window and checkout steps, plus GA4's standard
begin_checkout. See Track WordPress ticket sales in Google Analytics.
This measures conversions for your marketing. It's optional, it only affects your own analytics, and nothing about it changes for buyers.
If you create an organization later
Your personal settings stay where they are and keep covering the events you host yourself. Events created under the organization follow that organization's own Google Analytics settings, so set those up too under Profile → My Organizations.
